DIY PPE Face Mask + Links

Back a few weeks ago before Quarantimes, searching for DIY Face Masks on YouTube would’ve resulted in a whole bunch of beauty and DIY influencers posting skincare face masks.

What simple days those were of influencers recording their skincare routines because we all absolutely just HAD to know every, single, minute detail (lolz). However, when typing in the same search now during the Corona Times (sounds like a newspaper, right?!), actual protective DIY face masks pop up.

People are making homemade face masks to assist medical professionals and to have on hand for personal use due to shortages. Even designer Christian Siriano just announced that his team would begin making face masks to help with the dwindling supply of PPE (personal protective equipment) for those on the frontlines in New York hospitals.

Christian Siriano was always a fan favorite to come out of Project Runway (an OG Bravo obsession), and this makes us love him even more.

We STAN a fashion icon doing their part on the homefront in the battle against coronavirus! Let’s follow in his footsteps and see what we can do to help, or at least to pass the time while in quarantine. Although the video links below are not all necessarily medical-grade N95 face masks, there are many different DIY videos out there for those who want to give it a go. Perhaps it could still be helpful to wear even a homemade mask as a barrier if you need to leave the house for essentials (read food, medicine, and fresh air).

Also if you have old bras lying around, put them to good use and give the bra mask DIY tutorial a shot (I know, I actually audibly LOL’d also, but this is what we’ve come to people!).
